British blues guitarist Toby Lee is the headliner of the seventh Thrill Blues Festival, which will take place this year from July 5 to 7!
After last year’s guest appearance by the legendary Robben Ford, this year’s Thrill Blues under the motto “Let’s keep the blues young” will host the virtuoso Lee, who has shared the stage with greats like Buddy Guy, Billy Gibbons, Joe Bonamassa, Peter Frampton and Slash. This “blues superstar”, as Bonamassa called him, arrived on the public’s radar as a 10-year-old child prodigy, and in 2023 he was crowned with the flattering title of “Young Blues Artist of the Year” at the UK Blues Awards in London.
Among the other performers, the winner of the European Blues Challenge, Kyla Brox, daughter of the British blues legend Victor Brox, then the Italian blueser Matt Pascale, the French forces Mathis and Benoit, and the experienced masters Jolly Jumper and Big Moe arrive from Norway. There is also the Czech-Slovakian blues family Petra Börnerová Trio, while the Cat Squirrel band led by Mike Vernon, a famous British blues producer and famous guest of the festival two years ago, arrives from Spain.
Along with Cetina, there will be no shortage of representatives from Croatia and the region: “Bad Week from Novi Sad are known to the Croatian public as finalists of Nova TV’s Supertalent, and Croatia will be represented by Valerija Nikolovska & Big Company, Beatles Revival Blues Band and Jeremiah’s”, says the artistic director of the festival, Boris Hrepić Hrepa.
Of course, the traditional Welcome Blues Jam will not be missing this year either, which will host, among others, the winner of the Voice, Martin Kosovec. In addition to the music program, visitors to the Thrill Blues Festival will also enjoy exhibitions, workshops and screenings – follow all the news on the web and social networks of the festival. The Thrill isn’t gone!
